Vancouver Film School (VFS) and British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) have partnered to create the VFS-BCIT Pathway: a cross-institutional agreement enabling VFS graduates entry into BCIT’s School of Business. If you complete the entire pathway you will have the opportunity to earn a BCIT Business Management Advanced Diploma and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) – the perfect complement to your creative education.

Why should I take the VFS-BCIT pathway?

All VFS one-year programs prepare you for rewarding careers in the entertainment arts. The VFS-BCIT Pathway program gives you the knowledge and skills necessary to advance in your career by expanding your skills in business management, strategic and critical thinking.

After completing BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma, international students may apply for a post-graduate work permit. International students looking to obtain a study permit or work permit should contact Canadian Immigration & Citizenship.

Who qualifies for the VFS-BCIT pathway?

VFS students and alumni who have graduated from the programs listed below within the last five years.

* Inquiries from VFS’ Entertainment Business Management alumni are welcome.

Year 1: VFS

Production Diploma

You have a career goal and a creative portfolio. You may also have some professional experience, post-secondary education, and/or you have successfully completed one of VFS’ preparatory programs. You are ready to enroll in one of VFS’ qualifying production diploma programs.

Year 2: BCIT

Advanced Diploma in Business Management

After completing a VFS production diploma, you are ready to expand your knowledge and cultivate business management skills in BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma.

Year 3: BCIT

Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (optional)

After completing BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma you have the option to enroll in BCIT’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The degree emphasizes critical and strategic thinking and provides students the opportunity to be better prepared for career advancement by enhancing the skills developed in their diploma programs at BCIT and VFS.

Enter the workforce

After completing either a VFS production diploma or BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma, you are ready to enter the workforce. Please note: international students are eligible to apply for a post-graduate work permit upon completion of BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma.
