Vancouver Career College – BCIT pathway

Graduates of select Vancouver Career College programs are now eligible for entry into BCIT’s Advanced Diploma in Business Management. By completing the pathway, you’ll have the opportunity to earn a BCIT Business Diploma and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in addition to your Vancouver Career College diploma.

Upon completion of a BCIT Business Diploma that is eight months or longer, international students are eligible to apply for a post-graduate work permit. International students looking to obtain a study or work permit should contact Canadian Immigration & Citizenship.

Once you’ve completed your Diploma at Vancouver Career College, you’re ready to enroll in the Advanced Diploma in Business Management at BCIT. The program familiarizes you with essential business topics like management accounting, economics, marketing, human resource management, and more. Through lectures, group discussion, and case studies, you’ll learn how to apply a disciplined and professional approach to management to prepare you for your future business career. After completing your BCIT Business Diploma, you’re eligible to enroll in BCIT’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

What are the requirements?

BCIT Advanced Diploma in Business Management

English requirement: meet one of the following:

A minimum of 65% overall in an eligible Vancouver Career College program

BCIT Bachelor of Business Administration

Successful completion of BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma (70% overall in all 13 courses), and 70% cumulative average in the following courses:

  • ECON 2200 – Macroeconomics
  • COMM 3310 – Advanced Communication for Business Management
  • FMGT 2152 – Accounting for Management
  • OPMT 5515 – Quantitative Methods for Managers
  • MKTG 4010 – Marketing Management Strategic Planning

What is the best start date?

BCIT’s full-time Business Management Advanced Diploma program commences in the fall, after Canadian Labour Day weekend and first week of January. Part-time studies also commence at the beginning of January, April, and September; and, Summer Intensive sessions start June, July, and August.

When should I apply for BCIT?

Full-time applications will open on:

  • November 1st for following September
  • March 15th for the following January

Provisional acceptance for full-time can be given after you have completed half your Vancouver Career College Diploma (approximately six months before graduation) and meet the English requirement.

Part-time requires students to have all requirements completed and be registered in courses to get an acceptance letter. Courses for the following term open up approximately 2 months prior to the start date. Example: If a student graduates in October and wants to apply for the part-time studies in January, you must register in the January courses in mid-October. Note: Part-time Studies (course-by-course) programs are only available to international students who currently have a valid status in Canada.
