Broadcast & Media Communications

Programs + Courses

If telling stories is your vibe, we’ve got you covered. Broadcast and Media Communications at BCIT provides the tools to turn your creative dreams into reality. Using the latest digital, video and audio technology, you’ll learn the art of storytelling across multiple platforms.

Create engaging social media content, documentaries, news and sports stories, podcasts and live productions for TV, radio and streaming channels. Choose your path as a filmmaker, journalist, on air host, producer, sound designer, video editor, social media influencer, or as a corporate communications, media relations or PR expert. Experience the thrill of being on set, in the control room, in the newsroom, in the play-by-play booth, in the edit suite, and in the field capturing the action as it unfolds.

Hone your craft at our licenced FM radio station, Evolution 107.9, and on our in-house TV shows, as well as on our digital and streaming platforms. Put what you’ve learned into practice in multiple industry internships integrated into the curriculum.

Whether it’s in front of the camera, on the mic or behind the scenes, our grads are respected journalists, filmmakers, hosts, producers, directors, editors and videographers working throughout B.C., Canada and around the world.

An exciting career bringing stories to life starts at BCIT!
