Studying abroad at BCIT opens the door to a new and exciting experience. However, some things–like figuring out tuition and school fees–can be a little confusing. To help you with calculating the cost of studying here, this section provides detailed tuition sheets and information on fees included in your tuition. Tuition for international students varies depending on how you choose to study at BCIT:

The International Student Centre can provide further details if you have further questions.

Why international differential tuition exists

International tuition is higher by a fixed proportion (a “differential”) for all courses and programs—both full- and part-time—because it recovers the full costs of instruction, both direct and indirect. While base tuition is subject to the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills Tuition Limit Policy, this international differential is not.

Tuition for Full-time Studies programs

Tuition for full-time studies programs varies depending on the year you enter your selected program.

Estimate your Full-Time Tuition and Fees

You can view or print the estimate cost for your chosen full-time program using the Tuition Estimator tool; see estimated tuition and fees for the entire program, and broken down by term. These are estimates for the 2024-2025 year, pending BCIT Board approval.

Tuition increases

Each year BC post-secondary institutions may raise tuition by 2 per cent. In April each year, BCIT posts the new rates that take effect on August 1. If you pay your tuition prior to April using the old rates, you are required to pay the difference within 10 business days from the start of your program. Please see the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills’ Tuition Limit Policy for more information.

Ancillary and other fees

Your tuition includes fees that support campus facilities and student services. See the costs included in full-time tuition fees. Not all student costs are covered by tuition. Learn about additional fees not included in tuition.

Transfer credit & tuition

If you are granted transfer credit in your full-time program, your course load will be lighter; however, your full-time program tuition will not be reduced.

Tuition for Flexible Learning courses

Flexible Learning courses for international students is approximately three times the tuition fee. Distance & Online Learning courses also carry three times the fee.

You can find the cost for your part-time course in our online course catalogue. Tuition fees appear with information for each course offering, as shown below:
