SSEM Storefront

The SSEM Storefront portal within the Cherwell Service Management site provides a streamlined approach to service delivery. Visit and bookmark BCIT.ca/ssemhelp if you are authorized to submit requests for your department or school.

The key and card access request system for all campuses is managed by the Safety, Security and Emergency Management (SSEM) office.

The following types of requests can be made using the SSEM Storefront:

Access Control

  • Request for Authority (to make requests through the Storefront)
  • Card Readers (AMAG) – Access for employees, students, and non-BCIT persons (contractors and tenants)
  • Card Deactivations and Issues
  • Key Order requests for employees, contractors and tenants
  • Lost Keys, Broken Keys and other keys issues

Physical Security

  • AMAG Card Readers (request changes or report issues)
  • CCTVs (request changes or report issues)
  • Doors and Keys (request a rekey, or report broken keys or padlocks)
  • Emergency Phones (request changes or report issues)
  • Panic Alarms (request changes or report issues)

For employees

A BCIT Employee card is required for card access or key sign out.

For employees that require key or card access, contact your Operations Manager for the name of the authorized requestor(s) of your area, or for the area required.

Employees wanting to become an authorized requestor should submit a request for authority through the Access Control catalogue on the SSEM Storefront.

For students

A BCIT Student card is required for card access or key sign out.

Students requiring keys or card access must contact their instructor or program coordinator who will make a request on their behalf.

SSEM only assists with replacing lost Student cards ($11 replacement fee).
