BCIT has recognized a need for a consistent approach and clear direction for pets on campus. As such, we have developed an Institute statement [PDF] that reinforces our commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and accessible environment for all who work, live, visit, or study at our campuses.
As you will see in the statement [PDF] , it is the Institute’s strong preference that, with the exception of service animals, research and training animals, pets not be brought onto BCIT campuses.
The statement further outlines the responsibilities of pet owners who wish to bring a pet onto campus, and provides guidelines for managers who wish to implement site-specific exemptions.
