If you think you may be experiencing symptoms of poor IEQ, an important first step is keeping a journal of your experiences. It is important that the log be detailed, including information such as:
- Log date and approximate times when symptoms were felt or ceased.
- Locations and time spent in locations.
- Number of people present, particularly if more or less than normal.
- Weather conditions, including temperature, humidity, rain, etc.
- Any other conditions that may be contributing to your experience.
If an IEQ assessment is necessary, the log can provide valuable context when assessing the situation. The IEQ Log Guideline is located on the HSE SharePoint, and contains an example log and template for your reference.
