Overview
The Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification Statement of Completion is a series of modules developed by the PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada.
About the program
The Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification program provides maintenance, reliability and asset management and personnel practical knowledge and skills to effectively manage a business’ physical assets.
Who it’s for
The program is designed for the following personnel working in manufacturing and municipal infrastructure, such as:
- Directors, managers, supervisors
- Superintendents, foremen, team leads, lead hands
- Engineers, technologists, technicians
- Coordinators
- Analysts
- Planners
- Schedulers
- Millwrights
What grads can do
Graduates of the program have the knowledge and skills to drive improvements in uptime, production capacity, equipment reliability, safety, environmental compliance, economic life of assets, return on investment and effective communication between departments. Program Recognition
Individual courses can be used to satisfy continuing education requirements for Engineers, Engineering Technologists, and Engineering Technicians.
When all 8 Modules are successfully completed, the following recognitions are available:
- Learners are awarded the MMP designation and have exclusive use of MMP, a professional designation. PEMAC membership is automatically granted.
- Individual courses may be used to satisfy continuing education requirements for Engineers, Engineering Technologists and Engineering Technicians.
- Participants who successfully complete PEMA 1000and PEMA 3001 of the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) program can apply for PEMAC Maintenance Strategy Development Certificate of Achievement. Designed for maintenance and reliability engineering personnel, this certificate ensures maintenance management professionals have the skills to build an informed maintenance program.
- Participants who successfully complete PEMA 1000and PEMA 3011 of the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) program can apply for PEMAC Maintenance Work Management Certificate of Achievement. Designed for planners, schedulers, operations, maintenance coordinators and other maintenance personnel, this certificate ensures maintenance management professionals have the skills to make sure the right maintenance work is done on the correct assets, at the right time, using the right resources and tools.
- A BCIT Statement of Completion. Formal application for a Statement of Completion is not required. Upon successful completion of the courses, email soepts@bcit.ca with your full name, student number, and mailing address to be issued a statement of completion.

To take courses in the program, you do not need to apply. Please register for the course(s) in which you are interested.

The Maintenance Management Professional program consists of eight modules that are offered as eight courses as shown below. It is recommended that Module 1 (PEMA 1000) be studied first and required that Module 8 (PEMA 4000) be taken last. Otherwise, the courses can be undertaken individually and in any order.
