Entrance Requirements
This line of work requires students to be very detail-oriented, and able to work well with the public. To be successful in this program, students must be able to use a computer and communicate at a BC Grade 12 English level.
Please understand: The passing grade for each course is 70%. Dental terminology requires the utmost accuracy in spelling. Any spelling mistakes will result in lost marks, and this is non-negotiable.
Students need to be Windows 10 literate and able to manage files prior to starting COMP 0285. (COMP 1002 or equivalent knowledge)
Formal application to the Statement of Completion is not required, as this is not a BCIT credential. Upon successful completion of these three courses, a Statement of Completion will be issued.

Program Details
Students must provide a current model PC desktop or laptop with internet access and be computer literate in order to participate and complete in COMP courses.
Please contact the department if you have any questions.
- Attendance and participation are mandatory.
- Accuracy with spelling and math is required.
- The passing grade for each course is 70%.
Program length
Students are encouraged to complete this program in as little as 3 months part-time.
Grading
These 3 courses may be completed simultaneously. A pass of 70% is required in order to pass each course. Grading is S/U.
Program delivery
In person: This program is delivered on campus.
Face-to-face classroom and computer lab, course-by-course. Students are encouraged to complete all three courses in the same term. We have been running these courses for around 20 years and there is a very high success rate of students getting jobs based on completing these 3 courses.

Continue your education
A BCIT Statement of Completion is issued upon success in all three of these courses. Students may be eligible for continuing dental education credits as per the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.
