Testimonials
“BCIT was my first option. I knew the hands-on approach to activities, student-teacher interaction, and smaller class sizes would benefit me as an individual. I loved the idea of problem solving and solving business problems. I had opportunities to work in any function of the business, or even specifically in supply chain management, process improvement, or quality. I learned new approaches to problem solving and communication skills.”
David Chadima
“The Business Operations Management program had exactly the results that I wanted – a rewarding career. My favourite aspect of the program was getting hired before I even graduated! The term projects were really interesting and exposed me to job functions and skills that I didn’t know existed and after graduating I went on to get my BBA. I truly never feel like I’m pigeon-holed in my day-to-day work.”
Niko Condonpoulos, Inventory Systems Manager, Foley’s Candies
“The Business Operations Management is an immersive interdisciplinary learning experience that gives students the opportunity to apply learned skills in a real-life setting. One of my highlight experiences while at BCIT was presenting on our consulting project at APICS Vancouver. It was a unique challenging experience that gave me so many invaluable connections.”
Jessica Wang, Project Administrator at Urban Systems
Graduate employment outcomes
The BCIT student outcomes report presents summary findings from the annual survey of former students administered by BC Stats one to two years after graduation. These reports combine the last three years of available results for the 2021-2023 BCIT Outcomes Surveys of 2020-2022 graduates and for Degree 2019-2021 graduates. The reports are organized into three-page summaries containing information on graduates’ labour market experiences and opinions regarding their education. More detailed information can be accessed at the BC Student Outcomes website.

Business Consulting Project
A BCIT Business Consulting Project provides second year Business Operations Management students the opportunity to work over a 10 week period with an organization on a process improvement or development process project. Students work in a team of two or three to identify potential opportunities, conduct research, and recommend effective solutions. Students complete a comprehensive written report and present an oral presentation to the sponsoring organization outlining the student team’s recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
Business Consulting Projects are different from traditional co-op and internship programs. Students are not assigned to actual positions, but rather fill a consulting role for businesses and organizations. Each project has a BCIT faculty member that serves as an advisor for the student consulting team. Exit surveys from participating companies show that the completed strategic business solutions have a value that far surpassed their expectations.
