Course Overview
In ECOR 9170 students will conceptualize and formulate a manageable restoration project or research question. This includes identifying a thesis topic and objectives, an academic supervisor, and a general approach to addressing their research objectives. During the course students will be revisiting writing specific objectives with measurable outcomes, integrating Indigenous peoples' perspectives, and initially applying concepts from the research methods class. Students will identify what permits will be required for their research.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define research problems through analysis of literature surveys.
- Develop an initial approach to conduct research.
- Communicate with project partners, supervisor, faculty, and cohort about their proposed research.
- Develop an initial proposal draft and integrate constructive feedback from supervisor, faculty, and project partners.
