NSNN 7300 combines theory and clinical experience to focus on individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are not on renal replacement therapy. Students learn about the chronic kidney disease services, renal laboratory, radiological and diagnostic investigations and monitoring, nursing assessments and considerations, and introduction to renal pharmacology and commonly used agents such as anti-anemics, anti-hypertensives and diuretics. In addition to an introduction to CKD management, students will have an opportunity to examine the important role of various health care team members within the multidisciplinary team setting.
