Course Overview
Building upon static routing, this course expands on dynamic routing and router configuration, explores networking protocols, and applies routing concepts within a lab environment. Topics covered include Cisco IOS management, routing protocols, network security concepts, Network Address Translation (NAT) and Access Control Lists (ACLs). Routing protocols covered include Open Shortest Path First (OSPF). IPv6 operations, routing, and address assignment are also explored. Students will learn how to configure routers, interpret routing tables, and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Students are provided hands-on experience with routers and switches in a networked lab environment. The course covers Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms used for secure remote access. The course also introduces software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks.
