Graduating & Jobs
Students who earn their Associate Certificate in Web Technologies are often looking for continuing education for an already-existing job or to move to a new role in their company. This program is specifically developed for small business and professional development, rather than for new career advancement.
One of the most popular options for students in this program is to assume the role of web designer/author for the companies where they are currently employed. Many firms hire external design houses to author and maintain their web pages and are often not satisfied with the results. They are therefore anxious to bring this work back into the firm and may sponsor their employees to develop sufficient expertise to become in-house designers.
If you’re currently employed, be sure to ask your employer if they would sponsor you or pay a portion of your tuition for your professional development.
Students who earn their associate certificate often go on for further training in the more technical Certificate in Web Technologies program to prepare them for even more in-depth web design work and an additional variety of career opportunities.
Apply for graduation
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, complete an Application for BCIT Credential [PDF] and submit it to Student Information and Enrolment Services.
Allow approximately six to eight weeks for processing.
All financial obligations to the Institute must be met prior to issuance of any credential.
