Overview
The Advanced Certificate in Renewable Energy Electrical Systems Installation and Maintenance (REESIM) is needed because technological advances that have been made in the area of electrical installations for renewable energy are currently being implemented at a practical level.
The fact that renewable energy sources must be brought into the post-secondary training system as quickly as possible is undisputed. The most essential ingredient is a trained workforce that can perform the tasks necessary to install, commission, repair, and maintain the particular equipment associated with the technology involved.
The program appeals to learners who enjoy change and adapting to new technology and want to seize the opportunity to take positive action to ensure an improved future environment. This program emphasizes hands-on, practical training, using equipment typically encountered in the renewable energy industry. Some topics that will be covered in the program are the following; wind turbine, solar power, photovoltaic, geothermal, renewable electrical systems, and hydrogen power.
