Course Overview
This course develops an understanding of Lean and how it is applied across a variety of settings. In addition to understanding the core Lean concepts, tools and practices, participants will gain the capability and skills to facilitate improvement initiatives. Participants learn excellent techniques for creating value; improving processes and implementing change; as well as capabilities that are highly transferrable across any organization. This course follows the Body of Knowledge (BOK) of the International Association of Six Sigma Certifications (IASSC) and the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME).

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Learn the tactical deployment and applications of Lean philosophy, concepts and methodologies within a work cell, work group or across a value stream.
- Implement Lean processes to eliminate waste, optimize operational efficiencies and drive measurable performance improvements.
- Leverage Lean as a cultural enabler for leadership, teamwork, and human empowerment.
- Become better able to train other team members in Lean concepts and methods.
- Get applied practice in conducting a small improvement project.
