Overview
The Digital Marketing and Brand Strategy option combines theory with practical experience. Through in-class lectures and internships, students gain hands-on training in communication, brand strategy, campaign planning, paid advertising, and consumer behavior. This program lays a solid foundation for successful marketing careers.
In this option, you’ll be immersed in the fast-paced world of digital marketing and brand strategy, working in groups to drive results, and learning cutting-edge industry practice through in-class lectures and labs. You’ll gain real-world experience in your 10-week internship, and have access to networking opportunities to help accelerate or begin your career.
Many marketing employers specifically recommend this program and look for graduates to hire into marketing, advertising, promotions, and public relations roles in Canada and across the world. In fact, about 75% of our students begin work in the field immediately after graduation. You’ll also have the option of applying course credits from the diploma toward full-or-part-time study for your Bachelor of Business Administration.

Graduate employment outcomes
The BCIT student outcomes report presents summary findings from the annual survey of former students administered by BC Stats one to two years after graduation. These reports combine the last three years of available results for the 2021-2023 BCIT Outcomes Surveys of 2020-2022 graduates and for Degree 2019-2021 graduates. The reports are organized into three-page summaries containing information on graduates’ labour market experiences and opinions regarding their education. More detailed information can be accessed at the BC Student Outcomes website.
