Overview
The part-time Lean Business Improvement Statement of Completion is a comprehensive 3-course program designed to equip students with the foundational knowledge and skills in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and quality management principles, enabling them to improve processes and business results, and achieve Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification.
In today’s competitive landscape, mastering process improvement is paramount to success. Learning process improvement techniques sets you apart as a skilled problem-solver, making you an invaluable asset to employers seeking efficient and effective solutions.
Lean, also known as Lean Manufacturing, Lean Enterprise, or Lean Production, is a process-improvement methodology that identifies and eliminates non-value-adding activities in business processes. Value-adding activities are what the customer is willing to pay for and non-value-adding activities are considered waste and unproductive. Removing and or minimizing non-value-adding activities improves business results.
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification ensures a thorough understanding of the basic elements of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology, including the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) model. LSS Yellow Belts are capable of leading small and limited improvement projects, and also serve as team members in projects led by LSS Green Belts or LSS Black Belts. The program emphasizes the practical application of the concepts you are learning.
Students earning a Statement of Completion in Lean Business Improvement can continue with the Associate Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Principles, receiving credit for courses completed.
