Overview
The Forensic Nurse Death Investigator (NDI) online microcredential is designed for nurses interested in the role of NDI. This training will also prepare you for positions in hospital risk management, Coroner or Medical Examiner systems, and other agencies investigating fatalities, such as WorkSafeBC or the Independent Investigations Office.
To earn the 6-credit microcredential, students must complete two courses. Each course involves 45 hours of online asynchronous course content.
If you are a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner who has earned the Forensic Nurse Examiner microcredential at BCIT, you will already have taken the first course in this microcredential, FSCT 7810: Introduction to Forensic Health Sciences. You can complete this microcredential by taking the second 3.0-credit course, XFSC 7835: Clinical and Community Death Investigation.
