Overview
The Canadian Employment Readiness (CER) microcredential is designed to provide international and newcomer students with practical education that enables them to gain a deeper knowledge and practical skills to help them successfully obtain employment with Canadian employers. Participants learn to identify cultural dynamics related to expectations, organizational culture, as well as Canadian legal compliance for foreign workers, and international students and graduates.
Students will apply employability strategies to better adapt and align with Canadian employer expectations during their process of searching and applying for work in their new careers in Canada.

To be successful in this program, students are recommended to have:
- English 12 or equivalent
- computer literacy, which includes using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, participating in online discussions, and searching the Internet
- a fast and reliable Internet connection to participate in live seminars
International applicants
This program is available to international applicants who have a valid status in Canada.Apply to program
Formal application to the microcredential is not required. Upon successful completion of the courses, email the program contact with your full name, student number, and mailing address to be issued a microcredential.

Program Details
Program length
The program requires a total of 48 hours, including 30-hours online and 18-hours in-class sessions.
Upon completion of both XCER 4010 and XCER 4020, students will be awarded the Canadian Employment Readiness Microcredential.
Grading
XCER 4010 and XCER 4020 must be taken concurrently. The passing grade for each course is 50%.Program delivery
