Overview
The Asbestos Awareness and Safety program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to work safely with asbestos.
About the program
The introduction of the Bill 5 – 2022: Workers Compensation Amendment Act marked a pivotal shift in asbestos abatement regulations in British Columbia, setting stringent licensure and certification requirements for employers and workers in this sector. In line with these regulatory changes, WorkSafeBC has been crafting a specialized licensing and certification framework.
The Asbestos Awareness and Safety Microcredential program aligns with these efforts, meeting the standards of Level 1 and Level 2 courses.
