Welcome to the 2nd Annual Indigenous Youth Gathering, a virtual event starting on April 8, in partnership with the North Vancouver School District.

We are excited to host Indigenous youth for a virtual gathering with inspirational speakers promoting student success and raising awareness of pathways to BCIT.

Though we wish we could meet in person, we cannot so we have created this video for you:

Gifts will be drawn using an online random name picker from those who have completed and submitted the questionnaire. There are a limited number of gifts available – so be sure to submit your completed questionnaire by April 30!

  • The Enhanced Bridge Watch Rating program is supported by Transport Canada to provide a pathway for specific underrepresented groups (women and Indigenous people) to enter into rewarding marine sector careers. Explore a marine career working on tugboats, ferries or deep sea vessels. Learn more.
  • BCIT is the largest trades training provider in Western Canada. Choose from more than 20 trades, and explore options through the Trades Discovery
  • The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has a dedicated admissions process with five reserved seats for Indigenous students to encourage and support Indigenous applicants.
  • BCIT Computing encourages and supports Indigenous applicants, and preferred candidacy will be given to Indigenous students in select full-time computing programs. In partnership with TD Bank, the Computing Department offers bursaries and entrance awards specifically for Indigenous Computing students. Learn more.
