Energy efficient and low carbon homes are the future of real estate. New homes are designed to be more energy efficient and with reduced operational carbon. What does this mean for the homeowner?
Learn more about how to communicate the benefits and features of these homes to potential homeowners. Understand what the current codes and standards (BC Energy Step Code, Zero Carbon Step Code, and Net Zero Energy Ready) mean for comfort, indoor air quality, noise, and operating expenses. In this workshop, you will get to see these features through a real townhome that has achieved Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code, Emissions Limit 4 (EL-4) of the Zero Carbon Step Code, and CHBA’s Net Zero Energy Ready certification.
The learnings of this workshop also apply to all new homes, constructed after May 1st, 2023, as Step 3 is the minimum level of performance across the province. Attending this workshop will equip you with the tools and information to confidently describe what makes these homes better for its future owners.
The intended audience are realtors who sell new and pre-sale homes.
