The Learning Lunch Hour is a virtual space that connects anyone interested in environmental public health with EPH professionals and experts. Providing a comprehensive overview of the various aspects and roles within the field, the Learning Lunch Hour aims to foster an environment of shared learning and professional growth.
The next online Zoom session will be held of Wednesday, November 29th from 11:30-12:20 pm.
November’s Guest Speaker is Zac Dér, BSc, BTech, CPHI(C)
Zac Dér is a former EHO with Fraser Health and current Environmental Services Officer with the City of Burnaby. He’s resided, studied, and worked primarily in Burnaby with experiences spanning outside the regular journey of most. Time between studies and work was always split between sports, hobbies, union support, and eventually family.
Zac is a father of two and is more motivated than ever to ensure the future is bright for his family. His work in environmental health, through focused intentions of reducing environmental impacts of waste, is intended to help contribute to this future.
Zac holds a BSc in Health Sciences from SFU, a BTech in Environmental Health from BCIT, and a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) from CIPHI.
