Course Overview
This prepares you to conduct whole-building life cycle assessment (LCA) and responsibly report results in an environmental building declaration. In this project-based course, students will practice completing a high-quality whole-building LCA and preparing an environmental building declaration. Prior knowledge of building design and construction is recommended for success in this course. Upon completion of this and the prerequisites (XZEB 1160, XZEB 1165, and XZEB 1166), students can receive a microcredential certifying their skills in whole-building LCA.

- (1) This is the last of 4 courses required for the Whole-Building Life Cycle Assessment Professional microcredential. Students should have successfully completed XZEB 1160, XZEB 1165, and XZEB 1166 prior to taking this course. (2) This is an 9-week course starting on Feb 26-Apr 23. There are 7 online tutorials on Wednesdays Feb 26 (12PM-2PM PST), Mar 5 (12PM-1PM PST), Mar 12 (12PM-1PM PST), Mar 19 (12PM-1PM PST), Apr 2 (12PM-1PM PST), Apr 16 (12PM-2PM PST), and Apr 23 (12PM-2PM PST). Instructional sessions are delivered through a live interactive web-lecture through online course portal (BCIT Learning Hub) by industry subject matter expert instructors.
