​The APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) course covers concepts, strategies, processes, tools, and technologies applied to managing the end-to-end forward and backward flow of materials, information, and value in a supply chain. The subject matter is organized into eight content areas. These include: [1] Supply Chains, Demand Management, and Forecasting, [2] Global Supply Chain Networks, [3] Sourcing Products and Services, [4] Internal Operations and Inventory, [5] Forward and Reverse Logistics, [6] Supply Chain Relationships, [7] Supply Chain Risk, and [8] Optimization, Sustainability, and Technology. Topics of study include Demand Analysis, Data Privacy, Data Security, Supply Chain Master Data, Make-Versus-Buy, Outsourcing, Offshoring, Sourcing Requirements and Total Costs, Supply Base Analysis and Sizing, Supplier Evaluation and Selection, Purchase Orders, Inventory, Traceability, Accuracy, and Disposition, Distribution Services and Delivery Patterns, Supplier Performance, Supply Chain Strategic Value and Optimization, Sustainability Reporting and Standards, Emerging Technology Trends, and Technology Assessment and Implementation. In addition, it helps the student prepare for the CSCP exam. Your CSCP journey will begin with the CSCP Learning System. The CSCP Learning System is a comprehensive program that contains print and online reading materials, online practice tests and interactive study tools to ensure you're prepared for the CSCP exam.

  2. Be advised this program is an advanced study in supply chain. This is not an entry level program. There are no pre-requisites for this course, however, industry experience is an asset. 1. ADDITIONAL COSTS: In addition to the BCIT tuition, you will need to purchase the ASCM/APICS CSCP Learning System Kit (1600.00 ASCM Member Pricing and $2200.00 Non-member pricing, which includes books and a complete online learning portal. It is recommended to purchase your materials prior to course start as it can take up to 1 week for delivery. Course materials are required as quizzes/exercises in the learning system are part of a student's grade. Note Student Kits (Learning System) are not transferable due to electronic licensing. Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:

  • Describe fundamental concepts of supply chains and supply chain management.
  • Describe the importance of understanding the marketplace as it relates to the supply chain.
  • Show how IT fit in a comprehensive supply chain management system.
  • Indicate how the total cost of ownership can be used to justify investments in the supply chain.
  • Define logistics and explain its relationship to supply chain strategy.
  • Identify warehousing considerations of ownership, number, location, configuration, and support systems.
  • Explain the process and considerations in the exchange of currency between countries.
  • Explain the relationship between CRM, technology and establishing lifetime customers.
    • Indicate how corporate social responsibility plays a role in supplier selection.
    • Describe the roles of planners, buyers, and purchasing agents in the SRM model.
    • Describe the benefits of a well-organized reverse supply chain.
    • Understand the impact that differences in international, country, and local labor laws can have on global supply chains.
    • Explain three aspects of sustainability – economic, environmental, and social.
    • Describe the SCOR model and its use for improving supply chains.
