Course Overview
This course focuses on the creation of strategic analysis products used by organizations to plan future initiatives relating to their mandate. The course provides you with an in-depth study of strategic analysis methodologies and their applications to crime and intelligence analysis. You will learn of various structured analytical techniques used to develop operational intelligence and strategic intelligence analysis products that are useful in decision-making support of organizational mandates.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Develop intelligence questions and requirements that address a client’s expectations.
- Apply structured analytical techniques when developing a collection plan and analytical plan.
- Develop a Terms of Reference for a strategic analysis project.
- Collect information according to a collection plan.
- Evaluate the relevance, reliability, and validity of information collected.
- Use various reasoning approaches to develop inferences.
- Apply threat assessment methodologies, which include the development of indicators, to a crime or intelligence analysis problem.
- Use empirical research when developing a strategic analysis product.
- Develop considerations and recommendations for decision-making support.
- Complete and present a strategic analysis product.

- This course will be offered ONLINE and classes will be taught LIVE via Class Teams every Thursday for 13 weeks from 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm. There is no required textbook for this offering. Course information will be found in the Learning Hub. Students who have been accepted into a Forensics program where this course is a part of the matrix may register without any further approvals.
