International fees are typically 3.12 times the domestic tuition. Exact cost will be calculated upon completion of registration.
Course Overview
This course introduces students to fundamental statistical tools for the analysis of environmental data. Competencies will be guided by student needs and may include an overview of basic parametric statistics (e.g., t-tests, analysis of variance, linear regression), multivariate analyses (e.g., multivariate analysis of variance, principal components analysis, cluster analysis, canonical correspondence analysis, redundancy analysis, multidimensional scaling), advanced linear regression procedures (e.g., linear mixed effects models, generalized linear models, Akaike information criterium, maximum likelihood, Bayesian inference), and non-parametric approaches. The course is taught from an applied perspective, with less emphasis on theory and more focus on providing hands-on training in the use of statistical analyses. Students apply analytical methods using R statistical software.
