Course details
Improving the environmental, social, governance, and financial performance of any organization requires data, and this data must be shared with relevant internal and external stakeholders in a meaningful and transparent way. In this course, students apply their learning from FMGT 5330: Impact Measurement and Reporting and complete a case study to produce an impact report. In this case study, students apply leading practices in impact reporting including applying relevant reporting standards and frameworks and gathering data to inform double materiality and KPI reporting.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Evaluate and apply appropriate sustainability and impact reporting frameworks and standards used in various industries and business contexts
- Prioritize stakeholder perspectives to determine material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts
- Assess material issues and identify risks and opportunities using double materiality, i.e. both sustainability issues' impact on the organization (outside-in) and the organization's impact on society and the environment (inside-out)
- Identify baselines and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) that address material issues
- Apply appropriate techniques to gather data, including stakeholder requirements and reporting requirements
- Evaluate information gaps and potential corresponding solutions when gathering qualitative and quantitative data
- Produce an impact report that is tailored to an organization's sector, size, and relevant stakeholders
- Develop and deliver written, oral, and visual presentations tailored to the intended audience
