Power Engineering Course

International Fees

International fees are typically three times the amount of domestic fees. Exact cost will be calculated upon completion of registration.

Course details

This is a self-directed online course that follows the Refrigeration Safety Awareness (RSA) Syllabus set by Technical Safety BC (TSBC). No attendance is required; students study on their own and are provided with learning support upon request. At the end of the course students should be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of Refrigeration Safety Legislation, Refrigeration Systems, Safety Equipment and Safety Procedures. To qualify for the TSBC RSA certification exam candidates are required to complete a basic refrigeration plant safety program (BCIT course) and provide a signed letter from their work place chief engineer stating that the candidate has been instructed in safety procedures of the plant. Holders of RSA certificates of qualification are entitled to attend and monitor general supervision or risk assessed status refrigeration plants with a total plant capacity of 1000 kW or less of prime mover nameplate rating, named on the RSA certificates of qualification. The RSA certificate holders are also permitted to shut down the plant named on the certificate and initiate safety procedures when specifically trained and assigned to perform such tasks.
