Course details
This course is a study of topics of particular interest to advanced students in the area of network security. The focus will be on understanding network vulnerabilities and how they can be exploited. Penetration testing frameworks and tools will be covered. Understanding how to mitigate network threats and vulnerabilities will be covered. . Introduction to privacy and Cyberwarfare issues and vulnerabilities. Students will be familiarized with network monitoring and security tools and use them to perform traffic and IDS signature analysis, and network forensics.

BScACS courses are also open to non-bachelor program students, if approval is granted by the BScACS Program Head. 3. BScACS program students have up to seven (7) years to complete the program starting from the date of their first technical degree-level course or the date of acceptance to the BScACS program, whichever comes first.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate how exploits can be used to compromise networks and evaluate the threat they pose to systems and networks.
- Conduct network audits and penetration testing for networks.
- Analyze networks and identify potential vulnerabilities that could be exploited.
- Design and implement customized network security solutions that would mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
- Perform detailed and in-depth forensics analysis of large data sets.
- Take measures to protect against information theft and Cyberwarfare.
