Course Overview
This course introduces common freshwater and anadromous fishes that students are likely to encounter in southern coastal British Columbia. Students will learn basic fish anatomy and physiology used for identification and be introduced to field guides used to distinguish between fish species.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify major external and internal fish morphology used to identify freshwater and anadromous fish.
- Use dichotomous keys to identify freshwater and anadromous fish found in British Columbia.
- Identify freshwater and anadromous fish known to occur in British Columbia to species based on observed external morphology.
