This course will provide a solid foundation of the essential role the air transport system plays in Canada and the United States. Topics include regulatory requirements, operational processes and management practices within the airport sector. Evaluation includes exams, airport report and online discussions.

- Compare and contrast the airport classification categories in Canada and the United States.
- Explain the governance model, various departments within an airport and the role and responsibility of key airport personnel.
- Explain the impact of airports in the community, region, nation and global community.
- Describe aeronautical and non-aeronautical facilities and services of a typical airport.
- Describe the airside services and programs required to meet Transport Canada regulations and standards.
