Course Overview
Introduction to measurement of construction work, with a brief review of reading construction drawings and specifications. Specific study of methods of measurement techniques applicable to site work (excavation), concrete and masonry quantity take-offs.

Learning Outcomes
Read and interpret information on construction drawings to:
- Prepare estimate work items checklists in accordance with industry MasterFormat Divisions.
- Prepare appropriate preliminary calculations for an estimate.
- Apply principles and techniques of measuring work items on standard quantity sheet forms.
- Extend and summarize work item final quantities in preparation for pricing.
- Comprehend the roles of estimates and estimators in the building development and construction process.
