Course details

This course provides a means, through directed studies, to enhance and integrate courses previously taken in the candidate’s area of specialization in technology and management. The primary deliverable is a project plan for a proposed project focused on the integration of management and technical issues applied to a real-life situation within the candidate’s organization. This plan must be submitted to, and approved by, the student’s “corporate sponsor” and the TMGT-assigned mentor. The goal of this course is to assist the candidate in the definition and application of the graduation project. This course is linked to other Technology Management courses and advanced level technology courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, the candidate will be able to prepare a Project Plan for a value-added project at the candidate’s workplace. Successful completion of this course constitutes authority to register in TMGT 8104.

  • Identify the target business issue.
  • Describe the business issue problem.
  • State general goals of the project.
  • Define specific objectives.
  • Outline design strategies that will achieve the stated objectives.
  • Define project tasks and roles.
  • Provide schedule showing tasks and timelines.
  • Define scope/feasibility of the project.
  • Define expected resources and budgets required.
  • Outline evaluation measures for specific objectives.
  • Provide research report on already existing solutions, if any.
