Course details
This is a refresher course in control systems and it consists of tutorials and examinations to prepare candidates for the National Examinations 98-Elec-A2 Control. This course begins with an introduction to models, transfer functions, poles and zeros and system response. System block diagrams and their manipulations are then covered. First order, second order and higher order systems are then described. Design tools such as the root locus, Bode diagrams, and Nyquist plots are described in detail. The course culminates in coverage of controller design via frequency domain techniques and pole placement.
