Course Overview
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a set of construction drawings from concept sketches, design information, codes and specifications. Students will learn how to graphically convey design and dimensional information and apply drawing conventions and techniques, construction systems and details in regard to reinforced concrete structural systems. The course is delivered through project work on foundation plans, sections, roof plans, schedules, and connection details.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Properly use symbols and abbreviations commonly used in reinforced concrete detailing and design.
- Produce engineering drawings for footings, tilt-up panels, roof and connection details.
- Use typical bar bends and standard hook details.
- Produce and interpret footing schedules.
- Identify commonly used types of foundation systems – Strip and Pad footings.
- Identify cast-in place construction method.
- Verify compliance with specifications of the engineer.
- Correctly interpret and apply reinforced bar Marking Systems and Bar Marks.
