Course Overview
This is the first badge for the Sterile Field and the Aseptic Environment (SFAE) microcredential. In this badge, learners will receive a fundamental introduction to the aseptic environment, covering environmental controls and sterilized items. Learners will explain how sterility and asepsis are used to maintain a safe environment for clients, self, and others. The focus of this badge is on practical knowledge within an environment ranging from semi-restricted to unrestricted. The badge concludes with a final quiz to allow an opportunity for learners to apply the badge concepts in a virtual simulated scenario. Subsequently, participants can progress to NSPO 1120, where they will further enhance their understanding and develop strategies applicable to a restricted setting, such as the perioperative environment.
