Course Overview
Designed for non-Chinese speakers who have no prior knowledge of Mandarin. Covers everyday Chinese language, and effective words and sentences for basic communication. Learn Mandarin for traveling and business purposes in China. Through the Chinese phonetic system, simple conversations, basic vocabulary and sentence patterns, this course provides oral practice related to scenario-based conversations. Also covers business culture and Chinese traditions.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will:
- Be familiar with key survival phrases in Mandarin.
- Know 50 - 100 basic sentences used in daily life.
- Have some understanding of characteristics of Chinese daily life.
- Be able to communicate with Chinese business partners in simple Mandarin during social events.
