Course details
Continues from BLDC 2400 utilizing the most recent release of the software. Emphasis is on application of software in production of drawings for presentation, development and building permits, and working drawings. This course may be eligible for students to receive funding through the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant at www.bcit.ca/financial-aid/strongerbc-future-skills-grant. Students register themselves into the course, then apply for the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant to cover payment, if eligible.

This course require students to work on assignments and projects outside of class time. Having your own computer to work on projects between classes is highly recommended. AutoCAD is available for the Windows and Mac platforms. Please check Autodesk’s website for minimum hardware and operating system requirements for AutoCAD.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Produce a set of construction documents, which can be submitted to any Local Municipality for a Development or Building permit.
- Plot large format drawings and use layout / paper space to optimize the display of the model.
- Use blocks and attributes to expedite the drawing process and enhance the monitoring of information within the drawing database.
- Use various drawing techniques to enhance an architectural design drawing.
- Construct an isometric drawing and construction detail.
