Course Overview
This course works in conjunction with the technical course projects in the Building Science Graduate programs. The aim of the course is to help students develop skills required to communicate competently with other building professionals, owners, and clients in different work contexts. Students will also learn to research, summarize, and deliver technical information required for building performance analyses, such as energy modelling; and present findings from relevant technical building science projects to a range of technical and non-technical audiences, in both oral and written formats.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Research, summarize and deliver technical information effectively.
- Summarize and present findings from building performance analyses.
- Communicate effectively using various types of current presentation media and methods.
- Apply techniques for handling questions and objections.
- Plan, structure, format, illustrate, reference, and write an advanced level technical report in clear, concise language.
- Successfully meet industry expectations when conveying technical information to a variety of stakeholders.
- Reflect critically on the assumptions of stakeholders and design appropriate communication strategies.
