Research at BCIT has always been driven by the passion of individual employees championing projects with students and industry. This includes our Canada Research Chairs and research champions in BCIT’s schools, faculty who are new to research or supporting student research, and full time researchers at our Centre for Applied Research & Innovation.
Research at BCIT is governed by committees operating at different levels:
- School Research Committees facilitate and support research activities in each of the Schools.
- The Institute Research Committee is the decision making body for research projects or initiatives that require resources to be allocated at the Institute level.
- The Research Task Group works primarily at the policy level.
- The Research Ethics Board (REB) is an elected group of faculty and staff responsible for reviewing and approving research under BCIT’s auspices that includes human participants or human biological materials.
and supported by the Applied Research Liaison Office.
