- Book an appointment with Accessibility Services to understand how course withdrawals may impact your eligibility for funding and how to do it properly.
- Connect with BCIT Student Financial Aid & Awards to explore loans, grants, bursaries, and other financial assistance options.
- Explore StudentAid BC to find out about available grants, scholarships, and financial support for students with disabilities.
Explore StudentAid BC’s Disability Programs tailored to students with disabilities and accessibility challenges
- Step 1: Apply for SABC/Financial Aid for full-time studies or Flexible Learning.
- Step 2: Apply for Disability Status through the Appendix 8-Disability Programs Application to determine eligibility for non-repayable grants and bursaries.
- Complete sections 1, 2, and 4 and upload to your SABC Dashboard.
- You do not need to complete Section 3 for your initial application. There is no need for an Accessibility Services representative sign Section 3 for you to be able to apply to the program.
- You do not need to be registered with Accessibility Services to apply for disability status with SABC.
- Student Financial Aid & Awards and Accessibility Services can help you with Appendix 8.
- Step 3: If you want to apply for grants for the purchase of educational related specialized services, adaptive equipment, and/or or the Learning Disability Assessment Reimbursement, the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist will help you with the process.
- Start with Steps 1 and 2.
- If SABC already approved your Disability Status, skip Step 2.
- Appendix 8 Section 3 is related to these grants and the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist will work with you to determine needs and complete the form if applicable.
