Course Overview
This course is intended to fast-track the certification process for those who are already registered in the hearing healthcare industry and can only be taken by Audiologists and Hearing Instrument Practitioners (HIP). The course provides theory on the topics connected with testing noise-exposed workers in BC. Such topics include WorkSafeBC regulations and hearing conservation, hazardous noise, facility authorization, counselling on industrial hearing tests and counselling on hearing protection. An overview of the WorkSafeBC Hearing Test Submission System will be provided. After successful completion, individuals will be eligible to apply to be Industrial Audiometric Technicians by the WorksafeBC. To be successful in this course, students are required to have a degree in Audiology and/or a Hearing Instrument Practitioner Diploma.
