We asked experts, including current BCIT students, instructors, and staff from all areas of BCIT, what advice they’d give new students. Most gave the same three answers.
- Arrive with effective time management skills.
- Know active learning tools.
- Learn about and connect with student supports and community opportunities right away.
Your Student Life Ambassadors, current BCIT students who work for the Student Life Office, are excited to co-host Fundamentals to Kick Start Student Success with Mark Williams, BCIT Learning Strategist. Together, they will share essential information and teach valuable skills designed to set you up for success at BCIT.
BCIT courses and programs are fast-paced and focused on curriculum content, so it’s important to strengthen your learning skills and understand the free student supports available to you before your first day.
Attending Fundamentals to Kick Start Student Success benefits every BCIT student. This includes all brain types, all programs and courses, those who will study on a different campus, online learners, full-time students, and flexible learning students. All enrolled new BCIT students are welcome to register.
