Course Overview
Students will learn to work with security models for database systems, including evaluating Intrusion Detection schemes, implementing and evaluating cryptographic solutions for data privacy and confidentiality, and experimenting with solutions for authentication, access control and non-repudiation. They will conduct in-depth studies of the design and composition of database engines and their popular deployment architectures to explore attack vectors, security vulnerabilities and threat protection. Students will gain familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance/conformance of security solutions.
