Course details

​This course builds on GVRD Automotive Refinishing Emission Regulation Bylaw No. 1296, 2019 and GVRD Air Quality Management Bylaw No. 1086, 2008 looking at past application of the regulation and best practices implementing the regulations in collision repair shops. Participants in this course should have the foundational knowledge of air contaminants as covered in the prerequisite VOC-Clearing the air course. ​

Learning Outcomes

​Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Explain best practices to implement Metro Vancouver Automotive Refinishing Regulations to control VOCs
  • Show practices of tracking VOC material sent for disposal and recycling
  • Discuss how different materials are tracked for VOC contaminants
  • Interpret Greater Vancouver Regional District initial “Automotive Refinishing Emission Regulation Bylaw No. 1086, 2008"
  • Apply Metro Vancouver updated regulatory requirements of “Automotive Refinishing Emission Regulation Bylaw No. 1296, 2019"​
