Course Overview
This course provides students knowledge on forensic accounting strategies, data mining opportunities, investigative techniques, and process mapping tools to collate information and plan the investigation. You will learn how to use various open and closed sources of information during an investigation, and will review various forensic software tools. You will demonstrate how to move a fraud and financial crime investigation from initial incident to resolution, and then assess how to adjust your investigation plan in light of investigative challenges.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify potentially relevant open and closed information sources for an investigation.
- Develop and justify the proper investigative approach incorporating forensic accounting, data mining and process mapping tools.
- Propose strategies to stop the movement of funds by developing a transaction flow chart.
- Assess and mitigate the risk exposure stemming from a fraud investigation.
