On behalf of the BCIT Board of Governors, it is my pleasure to welcome Dr. Jeff Zabudsky on his first day as President of BCIT.
Dr. Zabudsky joins BCIT at a time of exceptional growth as we prepare to enter our 60th year of delivering applied, industry-focused education. As the only BC post-secondary Institute with a provincial mandate for strategic workforce development, BCIT plays a crucial role in connecting education, industry, and government to meet the evolving needs of the labour market. With over 30 years of experience within the post-secondary and polytechnic landscapes – both in Canada and internationally – Dr. Zabudsky is the ideal leader to propel BCIT into our next chapter.
Together with Dr. Zabudsky, the BCIT Board of Governors looks forward to further developing applied education opportunities for all learners. By reducing barriers and improving pathways to BCIT, we will continue to deliver on our vision of empowering people, shaping BC, and inspiring global progress.
Over the next few months, Dr. Zabudsky will be meeting with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and our government and industry partners, all who comprise our exceptional BCIT community.
