Course Overview
The ISEP 0033 Speaking and Listening Test is designed to determine an individual's language proficiency, and whether he/she meets the English Language Proficiency Requirements to gain admission to a BCIT program. The ISEP 0033 assesses speaking and listening skills ONLY. For more details about the test, please visit www.bcit.ca/files/international/pdf/isep_0033_test_-_web.pdf. For scores needed to enter specific BCIT programs, please see BCIT Language Proficiency Requirements and the BCIT Program Requirements. Achievement of 50% is equivalent to English 12 C. Achievement of 60% is equivalent to English 12 C+. Achievement of 70% is equivalent to English 12 B.

Learning Outcomes
This test assesses the following language competencies:
- Speaking - critical thinking skills, intelligibility - oral fluency and accuracy (i.e. grammar and vocabulary).
- Listening - academic vocabulary comprehension, note-taking, comprehension of main and supporting ideas, etc.
- This is a cut-score test, not a placement test. Test-takers will receive a final percentage grade combining the Listening and Speaking Test Scores.
